Stop Smile & See

A video poem which was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend about the materialistically driven society we live in today. I actually made this video during a summer afternoon, while I was browsing through the footage I had taken for the week.

I try to carry a handheld mini-dv cam with me whever I go; the footage used in this film is a compilation of the footage I have taken over summer 2008.

I use certain images to represent certain emotions to represent certain questions I ask during the poem. The significance of any given image may not be explicit, but  I am welcome to inquiries of any kind.

The Swede

The Bloopers

During summer 2008 I started to take classes in Film. For Film & Text my final project was to make a swede of a film we studied that semester. I chose to do Titanic. The challenge behind the creation of a swede is that one must create a film with no more tools than one has lying around the house. Watch and enjoy as I created a trailer for Titanic, which originally had a $200 million budget, out of a $10 budget for a school project.

Face Tomorrow

College students respond to questions about why they spend more time on Facebook.com versus the 2008 Presidential Election This was originally made for the Campus Movie Festival in Boston. For this film I stood around Northeastern University and asked students a series of the same questions. This was literally the first film I had ever created without any prior knowledge/interest in making films. After I had completed this I discovered a passion and a new career.

An AGED Production

The second week of March in 2008 is the first week of my life learning how to film, edit and even use a mac. When I decided to get into the Campus Movie Festival Competition, I knew that I needed to make a preliminary short, fun film in order to learn how to do these things. The day I picked up the equipment, my dear friend Allan-Michael Brown and I shot some footage which I then edited later on. However made for instructional purposes, and in jest, this is my first film.
